Over the course of 2012, Seacat Services has continued to reach a series of ambitious goals.
The first was to develop a flotilla of top quality, class-leading workboats, fully operational and staffed by a competent and well-trained crew, consistently in the water and working onsite.
With Seacat Endeavour and Seacat Reliance having already clocked up over 1,000 hours of uninterrupted service on the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, we’re already in a position to take on the next milestone.
And indeed, such was the demand for our first class level of service and support that we’ve already launched the next two workboats, Seacat Resolute and Seacat Vigilant, which are both in service. Vessels number 5 and 6 are well underway and will be completed next year.
However, getting the workboats built and in the water has only ever been the first key test.
The second – and arguably equally important - phase of our development and growth has been about ensuring that every possible aspect of operation within the business is being undertaken at the highest possible standard.
It’s because of this that we’ve spent the past ten months working closely with the team at DNV to ensure that all our vessels comply with the highest possible operational standards. And thankfully, the hard work has paid off!
Last week, Neil Duncan, QHSE Officer at Seacat Services confirmed that the business had completed the final phase of its three-month DNV audit.
As a result, Seacat Services has secured ISM compliance, as well as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. This is the first time that an offshore wind farm workboat company has been seamlessly audited and certified to this level by the DNV.
ISO 9001 relates to a set of quality management services applicable at all levels throughout the business, while ISO 14001 relates to the environmental management systems that Seacat Services has in place. ISO 14001 covers everything from the way in which we operate our vessels, right through to how our clients work with us, while on the boat.
The final standard achieved was OHSAS 18001 – a certified standard that relates to occupational health and safety management systems and that helps us to safeguard and protect our personnel and our clients, at all times.
The vessel ISM is the lifeblood of our day-to-day operation and combined with the planned maintenance system ensures all 4 standards combine neatly to form a robust and efficient Integrated Management System.
